Wind Tunnel Testing

After I worked on developing the Aero package for this team I then had the opportunity to organise the testing of the car at the ACE Climatic Wind Tunnel. The outcome of this experience allowed for a visual and quantitative information leading to the inefficiency of certain aerodynamic devices, such as the rear cowl.

Automated Airfoil Geometry System

Using high-performance computing, multiple simulation geometries can be run in a sweep of simulations to output to datasheets to provide successful flap positions. This system I constructed would then illustrate the optimum positions for the front wing design or in the case below with a range of angle of attacks.

All new Lightweight Wing Geometry and Manufacturing method

All new construction for front wing design for modular access. This structure I design included both spars and ribs to maintain stiffness while the shell was comprised of an upper and lower half to be bonded afterward to achieve a much lighter assembly. 

2019 - 2021 Aero package

As Lead of the Aerodynamics team this was the first every aeropackage fitted to this team. Using and exploring various resources in validation to the elevated lightweight construction.
